Animatic update
Well its definitely not where I thought it would be by this time. I had some hang ups last week, well bottleneck I should say with other classes and costume making for Alice in Chinatown. In between all that I got my new animation table top from my Dad on Saturday morning, so Saturday was spent setting it up and James having to troubleshoot how to get my 8 year old digital camera to import into ToonBoom – Alas the camera is so old Windows 7 does not recognize it >.< Loo. It’s a really nice camera, just to outdated I guess. So I’m stuck at the moment with a weird work around that takes longer =( I’m just going to have to get another camera that works with the software.
On the bright side my new set-up is AWESOME I’m so happy! Joy! I don’t want to leave the house for all these obligations and just animate for days…
Sealy maquette
I made this little guy over winter break, just haven't gotten around to getting a good photo of him.
Sealy movie poster
Here's my little movie poster, based on the sketch I posted earlier. I drew the objects in pencil, vectorized and did basic coloring and gradient fills in illustrator, then composted in Photoshop.
The SEALY logo is the scanned design is from my mother's book cover, the entire poster design was also inspired by my mother's illustrations in her book. Thanks mom! =)
And just wait till you hear the Sealy theme song, my dad wrote it for me to complement the book in 1985. I wanted to be an animator since I was a kid, so we always talked about how cool it would be to animate Sealy. My dad would play the song all the time for me, that was my favorite thing. So this has been 25 years in the making... and a family project!
Alice in Chinatown
Cherry Blossom Cabaret has been in the works of a burlesque version of Alice in Wonderland, Chinatown style! It celebrates the art and community renaissance of the once (and still in parts) scummy downtown area. But hey the scummyness is half it's... uniqueness shall we say.
Anyway I'm posting up the concept artwork I've been working on with our team. Mostly costume, staging and set ideas for now. I'm really just using my blog to allow the other CBC ppl to view what I'm working on...
Mad Hatter
White Rabbit
Queen of Hearts
Staging idea - rabbit hole
Alice mirror strip tease
Set
Playing Cards
Caterpillar
Cheshire Cat
Jabberwocky
