Hula Bunny v.1
So working on a hula bunny character … still working on simplifying her for ease of movement and figuring out her squash and stretch. Going for an hourglass shape, two balls in a sock maybe… more to come!
Sketch Club Mark 8-13
I sat in with Sketch Club last Friday, the Animators of Hawaii Animation Studios hang out downtown on their lunch break and draw people. This is the ‘mark’ that was picked for the day. Meaning we had to look at him and draw him later when we got home. Good fun! :)
After faking his death, Colonel Sanders became
vegan and ran away to Hawaii with Millie.

Sealy – Short Film Info
A dyslexic kindergarten student named Michy just can't fit into the usual classroom mold. She is frustrated because her teacher doesn't know she has a disability or understand why she can't just behave like the other children. The letters on the blackboard taunt her as much as the children in class do. Michy finds her own way of learning with the help of her imaginary friend, a Hawaiian Monk seal pup named Sealy.

Animatic update
Technical issues: My aspect ratio woes are still not resolved, I’m just going to re-composite all the shots together in After Effects since it’s easier to correct the aspect ratios in the compositions. I’ve been trying to get everything to the same 1920x1080 resolution.
My other challenge is to figure out how to get the transparancy chroma key to work so it knocks out the stuff around the objects and keep the objects filled in AE.
I have 3 more shots to animate (the hand wiping the title, the flipping text on the chalkboard and Sealy Winking)
1 shot to totally re-do – the final expression change. It’s the hardest and I keep having trouble getting back to it.
Besides that i have to clean up and re-capture all the shots that are working.
So yeah lots of work left to do, but I feel like I’m getting somewhere.

Man I wish I had said no… I lost 3 animating days doing some graphic design work. Well it’s for a non-profit dance company and I’m getting paid a bit, eh it’s for a good cause I guess.
Don’t be surprised if you all don’t see me on campus much… I’ve got this awesome desk now I don’t want to leave it!!!
I will post all the construction photos of the desk after I feel like I’m in the clear with Sealy… which might not be till May… so yeah.
New Sealy stuff
This animatic is not updated with the animated type sequences I made this weekend, I'm still working out how to composite everything together. (Click to download)
I ended up working on my backgrounds this weekend because that is where my brain was at. I did make some new thumbnails for some shots I wanted to improve/change. Anyway I feel much better getting these backgrounds finished, I feel like something is finished-ish. I mean, it's changeable but it could pass for a finished look.
They are created in Photoshop and Illustrator with found free photos from Stock Xchange - royalty-free photo site. And everything is in layers and can be manipulated. - whoops I see a table leg in front when it should be behind - well I'll fix that tomorrow. Now it's time for sleep >.<
